The Children's Hour

A conceptual costume design for The Children’s Hour by Lillian Hellman, a story about the lives of Martha and Karen, who are teachers of Wright-Dobie School for girls. Their lives are damaged by a fabricated accusation made up by a student called Mary. She claims that the two teachers are having a homosexual relationship. The costume design hints at the character's interiority under an environment filled where love is washed away by rumor, lie and toxicity.
