Petunia Hu
Theatre Artist|Journalist|Aspiring Marketing & PR Strategist

About Me
Petunia is a producer, director, and playwright based between New York City and the UK. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Drama at NYU’s Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, with additional majors in Journalism and a minor in Social Work. Her theatrical work is poetic, symbolic, and often absurd—yet always deeply personal—exploring intersections between seemingly disparate experiences: classical literature and immigration, natural disaster and family violence. Her most recent work Cinderella and Frankenstein's Monster Are Dead received rave reviews at the 2025 Brighton Fringe. Beyond the rehearsal room, Petunia is drawn to communication across media, from broadcast to print journalism. She is also an aspiring publicity and marketing strategist, committed to using the power of language to tell the story of a brand and the people behind it.
